PLANNING MAKEUP FOR YOUR WEDDING DAY

PLANNING MAKEUP FOR YOUR WEDDING DAY

Planning a wedding can be fun and also overwhelming. You’ve probably looked over your check list a few hundred times to make sure you have covered every single item on that list. The cake, venue, flowers, DJ, Food, and that gorgeous wedding dress. All those little detail that will make your wedding day perfect for you.

Another important item that should not be neglected and be planned ahead of time is your makeup. This is as important as your choice of gown, accessories and hair because all these things come together hand in hand.

You may want a totally different look for your wedding and this is something that needs to be discussed with the person doing your makeup, let it be me your makeup artist or anyone else.

I personally always recommend a trial/consultation, this gives you a chance to discuss any concerns, your makeup vision for the wedding day and it also gives you a chance to meet the artist and see if you are a good fit for each other. Another big factor of having a trial/consultation is that you get to try out the makeup and see how it holds and perhaps make some final decisions on the final touches for your special day.

Makeup should only enhance you and since you are going to be photographed and/or videotaped you want to make sure you look good. Make up will help with that since the lighting/flash of the camera tend to wash people out.

Tips on what NOT to the day off your wedding day

  • If you want to get a facial or experiment with something new, the day before your wedding is not the day to experiment. Do this at least a month before.
  • Do not wax or tweeze the day of your wedding. I have seen this before and the poor bride/bridesmaid is so red. This should be done a few days before to give your skin time to heal as the makeup won’t even stick to these areas.
  • Don’t go to a tanning bed the day off or the day before, can I say horror story.

Well until my next little blur….have a great day!
